GUAM STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT REGIONAL CENTER SUMMARY - BUSINESS INVESTMENT NO. 1 Sea Grill Restaurant Dinner Show This business investment leverages the reputation and popularity of the Sea Grill Restaurant in Tumon, Guam by creating a dining and entertainment venue adjacent to the Restaurant and the UnderWater World® Guam aquarium. The dining/entertainment experience will be a unique and premium priced product for tourists and local residents. Guam attracts approximately 1,000,000 tourists annually and has a population of about 180,000. While dining, the guests will be entertained by viewing a show venue, including a hologram featuring a famous Guam story: The legend of Sirena – a creature half human and half mermaid. The dinner service and storytelling will be delivered thru song and dance, using local talent and lifelike hologram characters.
The capital investment of approximately $2 million includes the cost of staff, venue lease, equipment for both dining and entertainment, developing holographic characters, marketing, and collateral start-up expenses. Projected full time employment is 20 staff and indirect/induced employment is an additional 25 employees. The senior manager/co-owner has 12 years of experience in restaurant and aquarium businesses on Guam. Located in Guam’s capitol city, Hagatna, this authentic and traditional local Guamanian fare is taken to a higher level of preparation and sophistication through its fusion of western and Asian food preparations.
It is the only bistro-style Chamorro Fusion restaurant on island serving Chamorro cuisine prepared under state of the art culinary operations. The target market is varied and is inclusive of locals, military personnel and their families, visitors and tourists. Restaurant patronage is expected to increase along with the U.S. military build-up and its consequent construction and expansion presently occurring and planned for into the next several years.
